Video hosting company, Spotlightr (formely VooPlayer) has revised their billing structure and begun a shift to a new infrastructure.
All previous billing plans are being retired in exchange for the new Polaris plan, which is $29 per month and comes with all features, 100GB of storage, and 100GB of bandwidth per month. Previously, you needed to be an Entreprise level subscriber to have access to all features and utilize their CDN.
Note: Existing customers do not have to change to the new Polaris plan, it is just the only plan available for sale after November 30th.
Another big change is the removal of unlimited bandwidth. Spotlightr has traditionally had a confusing plan of giving an allotment of bandwidth that delivers via a CDN, and after your CDN bandwidth is used you would default to their local hosting which was terribly slow and often led to complaints against the service.
Pro members (aka people who purchased the AppSumo or StackSocial deals of recent years) were never given any CDN bandwidth, which led them to believe the service was of low quality.
Spotlightr also announced a brand new player with “More compatibility. More modern. Lightning fast player loading. Smooth and consistent playback on all devices.” The new player is expected to be released January 12th, 2021.
