Kinsta is my favorite host for solo-preneurs who are making a go of running their own WordPress site. Kinsta is essentially your tech team, managing your server and WordPress site for you with supreme competence and care.
However, like many premium brands Kinsta doesn’t do “sales”.
So, if you’re looking for a great deal on hosting this year I highly recommend you take up Kinsta on their 2 months of free hosting when you sign up for an annual subscription. (If you’re a non-profit you can save 15%!)
If you’re a little more tech minded or you have 5 – 10 sites you manage, then I’d recommend Cloudways (who *are* running a Black Friday deal). While Cloudways tech stack is excellent and their UI is extremely well done, you won’t get the same level of support from Cloudways.
If you are a WordPress agency and WordPress is what you do, then you need to get over to GridPane and take advantage of their Black Friday offer.
I know there are a lot of hosts out there, going forward what you are really looking for is an easy to way to manage the infastructure provided by the big cloud players like Google, Vultr, or Amazon. That’s why I choose the recommendations that I do. I have personal experience with each host and know their platforms to be stable and the user interface to be excellent.
I can make choosing a host incredibly easy for you:
- Limited patience for WordPress and not extremely techie? Just trying to run your business? Go with Kinsta
- If you’re pretty confident with tech and you enjoy a slight DIY approach, go with Cloudways.
- If WordPress is tattooed on your sleeve and you manage 10+ sites, you can go with my primary host GridPane .
